Having been to an NBA Finals with the Phoenix Suns in 2021 and an MLS Cup with the New England Revolution in 2014, Adam has been providing rehabilitation and performance training at the highest level with professional athletes for over a decade. Adam is a member of an elite group of physical therapists as a board certified sports physical therapist (SCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association – an accolade that only 10% of all physical therapists in America have obtained. Adam is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Adam has been featured in Forbes.com, Arizona’s CW7 television network, world-renowned PhysioNetwork.com, and much more.
Adam began his career in professional sports as both a fitness coach and youth academy soccer coach for eight seasons with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. Following the Revs, Adam spent a season with the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League in a similar role as a fitness coach. Adam transitioned to the medical side of professional sports as a performance therapist for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA for two seasons. After Atlanta, Adam was promoted to the Director of Performance & Rehabilitation for the Phoenix Suns for five seasons.
Currently, Adam is the owner of Loiacono Performance Therapy in Scottsdale, AZ. Adam’s experience and knowledge in both the medical and performance industries have enhanced his ability to successfully integrate concepts from sports science, rehab, fitness, strength training, physical therapy, and orthopedic medicine. Adam’s approach is to lean into research from injury risk data and longevity research to create standards for strength, endurance, movement, speed, and body composition. Utilizing technology such as force plates or velocity based training, Adam individualizes every athlete’s plan by repeatably measuring progress to assure results are achieved for every rehab or training plan.
Adam is the founder and host of the Finding Small Wins podcast – a podcast that pulls back the curtain on sports through conversations with industry experts and athletes to help everyday athletes learn how to upgrade their own health or performance. In its 6 months of launching, the podcast was featured in So Scottsdale magazine as 1 of 5 “Voices in The Valley.”
