Similar to the foundational principles of Integrative Medicine, NeuroForce1 developed the concept of Integrative Fitness out of the core belief that there is no single approach or methodology that will yield optimal health & performance benefits for all individuals.

PROBLEM

In the past several decades, we have seen a rapid change in health prioritization. Athletes are constantly dealing with overtraining related injuries due to the overtraining mentality, and the average gym-goers are suffering from chronic pain and sacrificing their true health for a number on a scale or while throwing around excessive amounts of weight that does not translate to real life performance. The modern definition of fitness has strayed from the biological definition of an organism’s ability to adapt, survive and reproduce, and now simply entails maintaining a thin waist line, having large non-functional muscles, and a general outward appearance of health, completely dismissing what really matters- what’s on the inside.

Health professionals generally recognize the importance of fitness, but fall short with their recommendations to “eat heathy & exercise”. With a market saturated with fad diets, supplements, and training methods, the average individual needs more information than the traditional medical model is willing or able to provide. For this reason, the simple “band-aid” pharmaceutical management model has become heavily relied upon, leading to a cascade of other health concerns and a passive approach to health management.

When an individual is motivated to undergo lifestyle change, they are rapidly discouraged by a lack of understanding of how to exercise, training-related injuries (even under the guidance of a personal trainer) or the lack of positive reinforcement to maintain motivation.
